Hello and welcome to the Cormorant Collection, a premier but affordable collection of women’s jewellery and accessories such as scarves and tote bags, together with soft goods for the home. Meticulously handcrafted in my studio in Betty’s Bay in the Western Cape of South Africa, the Cormorant Collection reflects the majestic landscape of this spectacular region with its craggy coastline and fynbos-covered mountain meadows.

The Cormorant Collection is also inspired by the cormorant, a seabird which moves effortlessly between land, sea and sky. Fabled as a symbol of nobility, bravery, adaptability and resourcefulness, the cormorant or sea raven is considered a talisman of good fortune in many cultures.

Created with a discerning and individualistic woman in mind, the Cormorant Collection strives to combine the highest standards of workmanship with a modern sensibility and ethical bias.

The Cormorant Collection is narrated with 100% natural fabrics like crisp cottons, textured linens and gauzy muslins. Some items feature memorable materials like traditional South African shweshwe fabric in rich colours and striking patterns. However, other items in the Collection like our muslin scarves and canvas tote bag pairings are carefully printed and embellished by hand. All our fabrics are chosen for their wearability, washability and durability.

The Cormorant Collection’s design ethic is expressed in strong, but simple lines. This can be seen in unusual, bold and imaginative combinations of different elements such as the placing of lustrous freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones like amethyst, blue lace agate and rock crystal alongside beautiful hand blown glass beads in necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
