For more than two decades my work spanned multiple media platforms. These diverse platforms ranged from traditional print media to online editions of prestigious international magazines, which included the Ecoforum Journal (Environment Liaison Center International); Earth Island Journal (Earth Island Institute Inc); earthworks magazine; Simply Green magazine; and Career Success magazine, for which I held a Bureau for four years.

Sustainability Series, Supplements and Features:
I published a Cape Argus and Cape Times Sustainability Series, which together encompassed more than 50 broadsheets, as well as numerous tabloid supplements on sustainable development in the Cape Argus, Cape Times and Weekend Argus, the Western Cape’s foremost daily, business and weekend newspapers at the time.

Emergence Series – Future Trends:
My Cape Times Emergence Series focused on emerging trends in a variety of sectors such as the Built Environment, Commerce, Computer Technology, Education and Transport.
The Inaugural Feature of the Cape Times Emergence Series was labelled “most impressive” by Dr Ian Goldin, Director of the 21st Century School, Oxford University; and “visionary” by John Battersby, Custodian of Brand South Africa, International Marketing Council of South Africa.
Other Cape Times Emergence Series features garnered comments such as “a powerful piece” from Peter Kidger, Marketing Director, Corobrik; “awesome writing” from Gary Ronald, Head of Public Affairs, Automobile Association of South Africa; and “excellent work” from Byron Corcoran, CEO of Fleet and Asset Finance, Bidvest Bank.

Bridging Waters – A GTZ-SADC Transboundary Water Management Documentary Series:
This documentary series, which I conceptualised and for which I did the research, comprised four 25-minute documentaries, each examining vitally important water issues around four of the major river systems in the SADC region. It was filmed in a high-definition format:
Documentary One – “Cooperation not Conflict: Sharing Water and Benefits” – Kunene River
Documentary Two – “Prosperity not Penury: Alleviating Poverty” – Orange-Senqu River
Documentary Three – “Development not Disaster: Combating Disasters” – Zambezi River
Documentary Four – “Integration not Exclusion: Building the Future” – Limpopo River
Expo Zaragoza 2008 – The Biggest Water Festival on Earth:
I was commissioned to write the content for a diverse range of media for a 500 square metre South African Pavilion for Expo Zaragoza 2008, an international water expo held in Zaragoza, Spain, from 14 June to 14 September 2008, at which 106 countries exhibited with 140 pavilions.
Expo Zaragoza 2008 was dubbed the “Biggest Water Festival on Earth” and its theme was “Water and Sustainable Development”. The content I provided covered three timelines, nine huge backlit panels, a comprehensive touch screen system, a website and various print publications.
